* A WORK IN PROGRESS *
“In 2019, I will begin work on a series of memoirs that will, in their combined glory, be laid before your eyes in a multitude of formats - primarily because I have worked, and continue to, across so many mediums - print, digital, film, music, mime (just kidding) - that the story would be dramatically less colorful if I restricted this tale to a somewhat tedious, “…and then I..,” tome of self-righteous meanderings.
So imagine, if you will, a coffee table-worthy box set, deftly edited and lovingly designed and oh, so, affordable.
So what’s the hook?
Well.., the concept of being adventurous is insanely overplayed these days, dontcha’ think? Some people free climb vertical escarpments of thousands of feet; some people bravely stay up past 10 p.m.
I know, I know.., it’s all relative, but.., come on.., there has to be a baseline that belies all manner of subjective viewpoints. So how ‘bout this: Adventure cannot be planned; adventure is finding yourself unintentionally out of your depth with your life or livelihood either threatened or severely compromised or downright in jeopardy. Everything else should be filed under organized excursion, or simply, duty.
With this in mind, I want to take the ADV modus operandi and share a mountain of stories from a life of being ‘out there’ - from scorching deserts to the frozen arctic and most every sea and prairie in between. On two wheels and four wheels; strapped in the open doors of helicopters over the Siberian and Alaskan wilderness, camera in hand; barrel-rolling in aerobats across New Zealand; diving for unexploded shells in the Tasman Sea; performing on stage in front of 50,000 screaming Chinese rock fans; documenting environmental destruction on every continent and every ocean - it is time to account for all of this mischief.”
